EATA Scholarship Application (PDF)<br />

<strong>The</strong> EATA <strong>of</strong>fers <strong>scholarships</strong> <strong>to</strong> undergraduate students enrolled in Athletic Training Education Programs in <strong>the</strong> amount<br />

<strong>of</strong> $1,500 - $2,000 awarded at <strong>the</strong> EATA Annual Meeting. <strong>The</strong> <strong>scholarships</strong> are designed for senior students who are<br />

ei<strong>the</strong>r pursuing graduate study in athletic training or entering <strong>the</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>ession <strong>of</strong> athletic training.<br />

Applications must be postmarked no later than November 1st and should be sent <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> address listed on <strong>the</strong> form.<br />

• Francis J. George Scholarship Award<br />

I. To be eligible for consideration an applicant shall:<br />

A. Have <strong>been</strong> a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> EATA for at least one year prior <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> application filing deadline <strong>of</strong> June 1.<br />

B. Have signified his/her intention <strong>to</strong> continue academic work as a doc<strong>to</strong>ral graduate student during year <strong>of</strong> award,<br />

and <strong>have</strong> <strong>been</strong> judged capable <strong>of</strong> graduate study by his/her major pr<strong>of</strong>essor, major department head, or dean <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

college in which he/she is enrolled.<br />

C. Have an overall minimum cumulative grade point average <strong>of</strong> 3.2 (based on a maximum <strong>of</strong> 4.0) by <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong><br />

application from all graduate coursework completed, from ALL institutions attended<br />

NOTE: <strong>The</strong> student’s athletic training achievement shall be weighed at least equally with his/her academic<br />

performance.<br />

D. Have performed with distinction as a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> athletic training program and in his/her major.<br />

E. Intends <strong>to</strong> pursue <strong>the</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>ession <strong>of</strong> athletic training as <strong>the</strong> means <strong>of</strong> livelihood.<br />

F. Have conducted him/herself both on and <strong>of</strong>f <strong>the</strong> field in a manner which has brought credit <strong>to</strong> him/herself, <strong>the</strong><br />

institution, intercollegiate athletics, and <strong>the</strong> ideals and objectives <strong>of</strong> American higher education.
