Scholarship Criteria:
This scholarship is available to both current undergraduate students in any field of study and students expecting
to enter university in 2006 or 2007. Recipients of the scholarships will be determined based on quality of work
submitted.
• Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund and the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

The Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund was established to provide education assistance for postsecondary
study to members of families impacted by events of September 11 th . Contributors to the Fund want to ensure
that the children and spouses of those who died or were permanently disabled will have the opportunity to
continue their education. The Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of American is also coordinating efforts of the
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation which has established a 1 million scholarship fund, the Bridge to Tomorrow
Grant Program, for the dependent children and spouses of persons killed, missing. Or permanently disabled in
the terrorist attacks.

• Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund (FEEA) Scholarships & Loans

The FEEA awarded college scholarships exclusively to federal and postal employees and their family members.
Applications are available from January through March of each year – during those months the application will
appear for downloading. Applications are due back at FEEA headquarters by March 31, and awards are made in
August in time for fall school term. Eligible applicants include current civilian federal and postal employees
with at least three years of federal service and their dependent family members (children and spouses). Awards
are strictly merit based and for one year only, non renewable. Recipients may reenter the competition each year.
FEEA Student Loans through Capital for Knowledge (R) – Capital for Knowledge (R) offers a variety of
flexible borrowing options: Private Loans for full-time, half-time or less than half-time students, with loan
amount ranging from $1,500 to $25,000 a year; Computer Financing – offers students affordable computer
loans up to $7,500 that enable you to finance any brand of computer, as well as software and peripherals. Visit
