• AAUW Educational Foundtion – Career Development Grants<br />

<strong>The</strong> American Association <strong>of</strong> <strong>University</strong> Women (AAUW) Educational Foundation has scholarship funds in <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>following</strong>: Academic Grants which support course work <strong>to</strong>ward a master’s degree, second bachelor’s degree,<br />

or specialized training in a technical or pr<strong>of</strong>essional field. Funds are not available for doc<strong>to</strong>ral work or distance<br />

learning; Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Development Institute Grants support women’s participation in pr<strong>of</strong>essional institutes<br />

that are academically based and <strong>have</strong> a focused, specific program <strong>of</strong> study with identified faculty and fixed<br />

schedules <strong>of</strong> short-term duration (for example, two <strong>to</strong> eight weeks). Application postmark deadline is<br />

December 15, 2004 .<br />

meet <strong>the</strong> criteria below.<br />

Scholarship Criteria:<br />

Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum <strong>of</strong> fields <strong>of</strong> study and are awarded based<br />

on character, personal merit and commitment. Merit is demonstrated through leadership in school, civic and<br />

extracurricular activities, academic achievement, and motivation <strong>to</strong> serve and succeed.<br />

How <strong>to</strong> Apply:<br />

Students must submit an essay <strong>of</strong> no more than 500 words explaining how <strong>the</strong>y are fulfilling <strong>the</strong> criteria<br />

mentioned above.<br />

• Air Traffic Control Association Inc. Scholarships for Children <strong>of</strong> Air Traffic Specialists<br />

Requirements:<br />

For children (ei<strong>the</strong>r natural or adopted) <strong>of</strong> persons serving or having served air traffic control specialists with<br />

ei<strong>the</strong>r government, US military, or private facility in <strong>the</strong> US. Must be enrolled in an accredited college or<br />

university and planning <strong>to</strong> continue <strong>the</strong> <strong>following</strong> year in bachelor’s program or higher. Attendance must be<br />

equal <strong>to</strong> at least half-time (6 hrs.).<br />

One 4-year undergraduate college scholarship is awarded each year <strong>to</strong> a son or daughter <strong>of</strong> medically retired,<br />

long-term disabled or deceased pilot members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Air Line Pilot Association. <strong>The</strong> <strong>to</strong>tal monetary value is<br />

$12,000 disbursed over four consecutive years, provided adequate academic standing is maintained (3.0 GPA).<br />
