Any young person under the age of 18 who has completed an important piece of work in the fields of
Mathematics, Science, Technology, Music, Literature, Philosophy or Outside the Box may apply to the program.
They must also be prepared to describe their journey in developing the project and to explain its purpose and
social relevance. Fellows are asked to make a commitment to help other highly intelligent students develop their
own talents.
The result is scholarships of $50,000, $25,000 and $10,000 to be used for tuition and expenses at an accredited
institution of learning. There is also an unforgettable trip to Washington, D.C. every September when Davidson
Fellows are recognized and honored for their accomplishment. Since its inception in 2001, the program has
awarded nearly $2 million in scholarships.
To be eligible for consideration as a 2006 Davidson Fellow, applicants must:
Be a U.S. citizen residing in the United States, or a Permanent Resident of the United States residing in the
United States.
Be under 18 years of age as of October 1, 2006. Individuals born on or before October 1, 1988 are not eligible.
There is no minimum age for eligibility.
Have completed a significant piece of work in one of the designated Application Categories.
Be available to attend, with at least one parent or guardian, the awards reception and other recognition events to
be held September 2006 in Washington, D.C. (Travel expenses and lodging will be paid by the Institute.)

AMOUNT: Awards up to $22,500 ELIGIBLE
APPLICANTS: Any undergraduate students who is a U.S. citizen; enrolled as a full-time student in the Fall
2006 as a junior at an accredited college or university within the United States or U.S. territories; who possesses
at least a cumulative 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale in all completed undergraduate courses and in their
major field of study; and has declared a major in a NOAA-related discipline.
Eligible undergraduates studying oceanic, environmental, biological, and atmospheric sciences, mathematics,
engineering, remote sensing technology, physical and social sciences including geography, physics, hydrology,
geomatics, or teacher education that support NOAA's programs and mission are encouraged to apply.

Each year the Manasquan river Marlin & Tuna Club awards the George Burlew Scholarship Grant to one or
more students interested in pursuing a course in Marine related studies. The amount of the Grant may vary
from year to year. The guidelines and requirements for all applicants: must be pursuing Marine related studies;
must be full or part time students; must submit one letter of recommendation, submit proof of student status,
and return scholarship application and essay (essay this year must be one page on why you have chosen Marine
related studies and your reasons for applying for this scholarship).
