<strong>The</strong> scholarship award is in <strong>the</strong> amount <strong>of</strong> up <strong>to</strong> $5,000 for students pursuing a four-year degree and $2,500 for<br />

students pursuing a two-year degree (i.e., $1,250 for each year <strong>of</strong> school).<br />

• Nell G<strong>of</strong>f Memorial Scholarship<br />

<strong>The</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> this scholarship is <strong>to</strong> financially aid students who are interested in a future major or majoring in<br />

horticulture, floriculture, landscape design, conservation, forestry, botany, agronomy, plant pathology,<br />

environmental control, city planning and/or o<strong>the</strong>r gardening related fields. Student must be a legal resident <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> State <strong>of</strong> Maine. Priority is given <strong>to</strong> a resident <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> St. Croix District (Hancock County and <strong>the</strong> sou<strong>the</strong>rn<br />

part <strong>of</strong> Washing<strong>to</strong>n County. College sophomores are eligible, as <strong>the</strong>y will be entering <strong>the</strong>ir junior year <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>following</strong> fall. Application deadline is March 1 st , winners will be announced no later than May 1 st .<br />

• New England College Scholarship for Business, Finance, or Economics<br />

Who is eligible <strong>to</strong> apply? High school seniors that are currently attending Lawrence, Messalonskee, Waterville,<br />

or Winslow High School with a cumulative GPA <strong>of</strong> 3.0 or better. Candidate must be a legal Maine resident.<br />

Employees and direc<strong>to</strong>rs <strong>of</strong> Kennebec Federal Savings and <strong>the</strong>ir relatives are not eligible. Must be accepted as a<br />

full-time student in a 2 or 4 year Business, Finance, or Economics degree program at a New England College.<br />

Scholarship amount: $500.00 for one student from each high school. A <strong>to</strong>tal <strong>of</strong> 4 <strong>scholarships</strong> are awarded.<br />

How are <strong>the</strong> <strong>scholarships</strong> awarded? One applicant will be randomly drawn from all <strong>the</strong> qualified applicants<br />

from that high school. Winners will be notified by mail by June 1. <strong>The</strong> scholarship will be paid directly <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

college at <strong>the</strong> completion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> first semester <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> recipient's freshman year providing <strong>the</strong>y <strong>have</strong> attained a<br />

GPA <strong>of</strong> 2.5 greater and <strong>the</strong>y continue <strong>the</strong>ir formal education in <strong>the</strong> second semester.<br />

How are <strong>the</strong> <strong>scholarships</strong> awarded? <strong>The</strong> awards are based on financial need. This scholarship is renewable by<br />

reapplying.<br />
