Who is eligible to apply? High school senior attending college for the first time as a freshman who are
dependents of dues paying members of the Maine State Employees Association or who are members themselves
attending college full or part-time. Criteria for awarding scholarships is based on financial need, scholastic
ability, leadership, service to others and character. Call MSEA to verify eligibility.(1-800-452-8794 or 622-

Scholarship amount: 3 - $500 to MSEA members; 13 - $750 to $1,500 to dependents of dues paying members.
How are the scholarships awarded? A Committee of MSEA members is appointed each year to screen
applications and make awards based on financial need, scholastic ability, leadership, service to others and
character.

Who is eligible to apply? High school seniors or college students who graduated from a Maine high school, who
have demonstrated an active interest in golf.
Scholarship amount: 1,000 renewable

Who is eligible to apply? Maine residents (born or have been a legal resident of the State of Maine for at least
four years; or have at least one parent who was born in or has been a legal resident of the State of Maine for at
least four years) who are under 25 years of age, already enrolled in a Maine college, have completed at least one
year of college and have a GPA of at least 3.0.
Scholarship amount: $1,000
How are the scholarships awarded? Applicant must demonstrate depth of character, leadership, patriotism,
seriousness of purpose, service orientation and high academic achievement.
Application process: Essay, work sample and transcript. Recipient must attend college in Maine. Applications
available after January 1 st from Maine State Society Foundation, 3508 Wilson Street, Fairfax, VA 22030
