You may qualify if:
o You are 18, 19 or 20 years old; you are in foster care or
o you were in foster care as a teenager and you are a US citizen or qualified non-citizen
o you aged out of the foster care system at age 18 or
o were adopted from foster care with adoption finalization after your 16th birthday.
o You have been accepted into or are enrolled in a degree, certificate or other program at a college,
university, technical or vocational school and you show progress towards that degree or certificate.

The Maine Fishermen's Forum Scholarship Fund was established for the benefit of immediate family members
(son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter) of anyone actively participating in Maine's seafood industry.
Undergraduates attending a two or four year college who are in at least their second year of their program are
eligible.
Donations to the scholarship fund are always welcome, and are tax deductible since the Maine Fishermen's
Forum is a non-profit organization.

• MELA - Maine Educational Loan Authority Scholarship

MELA sponsor of the Maine Loan will continue to offer Maine residents planning to attend an institution of
higher education in the US or Canada, OR out of state students planning to attend a Maine college or
university, the chance to win $2,500 toward their college education. Applicants sign up on the MELA website
and are entered into the random drawings. MELA will select one entry in July 2006 and another in January
2007. MELA Web Scholarship is fast and sasy - NO lengthy application necessary, NO need to write an essay,
and are NOT required to send recommendations or demonstrate financial need.
