When can I apply for this scholarship? On or after June 30 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> year prior <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> award year.<br />

What is <strong>the</strong> application deadline? Completed application must be postmarked by May 1 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> award year.<br />

<strong>The</strong>re are five different categories <strong>of</strong> awards <strong>the</strong>y are:<br />

1] Graduating High School Seniors (not <strong>to</strong> exceed $10,000.)**<br />

2] Graduating High School Seniors Who Will Attend One <strong>of</strong> Maine’s Community Colleges (not <strong>to</strong> exceed<br />

$2,500.)**<br />

3] Full or Part-time College or Graduate Students (not <strong>to</strong> exceed $10,000.)**<br />

4] Full or Part-Time Maine Community College Students – (not <strong>to</strong> exceed $2,500.)**<br />

5] Individuals in a Teacher Preparation Program (not <strong>to</strong> exceed $10,000.) This award is for a single year’s<br />

duration. Applicants may be declared education majors entering <strong>the</strong>ir junior/senior year in college, or an<br />

enrollee in a post-graduate program such as Masters in Arts in Teaching (MAT). Extended Teacher Education<br />

Program (ETEP), or any o<strong>the</strong>r educational program that results in teacher certification-granting by <strong>the</strong> State <strong>of</strong><br />

Maine.<br />

**<strong>The</strong>se awards will be <strong>to</strong> cover tuition, room, board, books and fees not <strong>to</strong> exceed <strong>the</strong>ir specific limits. Awards<br />

are paid directly <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> winner. One-half will be paid upon evidence <strong>of</strong> successful completion <strong>of</strong> 1 st semester,<br />

second half upon completion <strong>of</strong> 2 nd semester in an accredited institution <strong>of</strong> higher education.<br />

Deadlines for applications will be February 1 st , <strong>of</strong> any given year. Application forms may be downloaded<br />

between November 1 st and January 31 st .<br />

• Daniel E. Lambert Memorial Scholarship “Maine Students only”<br />

Purpose:<br />

One-time award for a senior at an accredited Maine high school. Parent must be a veteran. Award is based on<br />

financial need and good character. Must be U.S. citizen. Applicant must show evidence <strong>of</strong> being enrolled, or<br />

attending accredited college or vocational technical school.<br />

Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available <strong>to</strong> U.S. citizens.<br />
