Who is eligible <strong>to</strong> apply? Any graduate <strong>of</strong> Boothbay Region High School who is a resident <strong>of</strong> Boothbay,<br />

Boothbay Harbor, Southport, or Edgecomb.<br />

Scholarship amount: Varies with need.<br />

How are <strong>the</strong> <strong>scholarships</strong> awarded? Awards are based on financial need. This scholarship is renewable by<br />

reapplying.<br />

What is <strong>the</strong> application deadline? Completed application must be received by May 1 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> award year.<br />

• Boulos Family Scholarship<br />

<strong>The</strong> Scholarship can be used at any regionally accredited Maine College or <strong>University</strong>. <strong>The</strong> Boulos Family<br />

Scholarship is for MAINE military personnel who served in Iraq or Afghanistan in <strong>the</strong> post-September 11, 2001<br />

conflicts. Military personnel who served, or are currently serving in <strong>the</strong> U.S. Military, National Guard or<br />

Reserves, and/or those who <strong>have</strong> <strong>been</strong> honorably discharged are eligible for <strong>the</strong> scholarship. Scholarship<br />

recipients must <strong>have</strong> <strong>been</strong> a MAINE resident prior <strong>to</strong> serving in ei<strong>the</strong>r conflict.<br />

Any individual who meets <strong>the</strong> Scholarship eligibility criteria, regardless <strong>of</strong> financial need, may receive a Boulos<br />

Family Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.<br />

How it works: To receive <strong>the</strong> Scholarship, Maine veterans who meet <strong>the</strong> eligibility criteria must complete a<br />

Boulos Family Scholarship application form with a college <strong>of</strong>ficial. You will need <strong>to</strong> show <strong>of</strong>ficial verification<br />

<strong>of</strong> military service (DD-214 or o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong>ficial documentation). <strong>The</strong> Scholarship may be used for credit courses,<br />

and/or for any undergraduate or graduate program <strong>of</strong> study. It may be used <strong>to</strong> cover such costs as tuition, fees,<br />

books, supplies, room & board, and general student support. Recipients may attend college as full-time or parttime<br />

students. <strong>The</strong> full scholarship award must be used within four years <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> initial award.<br />

Deadline is February 1, 2005.<br />

Maine Federation <strong>of</strong> Business and Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Women’s Club Scholarships<br />

<strong>The</strong>se <strong>scholarships</strong> established by <strong>the</strong> Maine Federation <strong>of</strong> Business and Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Women’s Clubs, Inc. <strong>to</strong><br />

be awarded annually, through <strong>the</strong> BPW FUTURAMA scholarship program. Completed applications for <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>scholarships</strong> must be received by April 20 th .<br />

o Futurama Continuing Education Scholarship –<br />

Who is eligible <strong>to</strong> apply? This scholarship is <strong>of</strong>fered <strong>to</strong> women now enrolled in college. Applicants<br />

must be Maine residents.<br />

Scholarship amount: $1,200.<br />

How are <strong>the</strong> <strong>scholarships</strong> awarded? Applicants should be sure <strong>to</strong> state <strong>the</strong>ir financial needs.
