Eligibility Criteria include:<br />

• Current enrollment and matriculation in a state approved nursing program leading <strong>to</strong> an associates,<br />

baccalaureate, diploma, generic doc<strong>to</strong>rate or generic master’s degree; or enrolled in an RN <strong>to</strong> BSN, RN<br />

<strong>to</strong> MSN, or LPN/LVN <strong>to</strong> RN program.<br />

• Pre-nursing students taking courses <strong>to</strong> prepare for matriculation in<strong>to</strong> a nursing program;<br />

• Attending classes and taking no less than six (6) credits per semester;<br />

• Involvement in student nursing organizations and/or community health activities;<br />

• Document academic achievement<br />

• Establish financial need;<br />

• High school students aare not eligible <strong>to</strong> apply;<br />

Steven Cutter Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Student<br />

<strong>The</strong> Steven Scott Cutter scholarship was established by <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees in 1999 in memory <strong>of</strong> Steven, son<br />

<strong>of</strong> Nancy L. Cutter, Foundation for Seacoast Health Administration Executive. Steven was a 1989 graduate <strong>of</strong><br />

St. Thomas Aquinas High School and a 1994 graduate <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Connecticut College <strong>of</strong> Pharmacy.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Steven Scott Cutter Scholarship will be awarded at <strong>the</strong> Foundation's Annual Meeting in April <strong>to</strong> an<br />

outstanding undergraduate student who is a resident in one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> nine <strong>to</strong>wns in <strong>the</strong> Foundation area and who is<br />

pursuing a health-related field <strong>of</strong> study. Students who qualify academically must be pursuing a health-related<br />

field <strong>of</strong> study, and <strong>have</strong> <strong>been</strong> and continue <strong>to</strong> be residents for a minimum <strong>of</strong> two years <strong>of</strong> one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> nine<br />

Seacoast communities in <strong>the</strong> foundation’s service area (Portsmouth, North Hamp<strong>to</strong>n, Greenland, Rye,<br />

Newing<strong>to</strong>n, New Castle, New Hampshire; or, Kittery, Eliot, or York, Maine) for a minimum <strong>of</strong> two (2) years<br />

(January 2005-Present) prior <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> 2007-2008 Scholarship Program. Greatest consideration will be given <strong>to</strong><br />

academic achievement as exemplified by class rank, GPA, and test scores; also considered are course difficulty,<br />

work shortage areas <strong>of</strong> need in Seacoast, job experience, community service, evidence <strong>of</strong> dedication <strong>to</strong> chosen<br />

field <strong>of</strong> study, and financial need.<br />
