<strong>The</strong> AMS, in partnership with industry and government agencies, awards graduate fellowships for first year<br />

graduate students in <strong>the</strong> atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences. <strong>The</strong> fellowships are intended<br />

<strong>to</strong> encourage outstanding students <strong>to</strong> pursue an advanced degree in <strong>the</strong>se fields. <strong>The</strong> fellowships are available <strong>to</strong><br />

students entering <strong>the</strong>ir first year <strong>of</strong> graduate school and are intended <strong>to</strong> permit maximum formal participation<br />

during <strong>the</strong> year. Prospective candidates from <strong>the</strong> fields <strong>of</strong> atmospheric sciences, chemistry, computer sciences,<br />

engineering, environmental sciences, hydrology, ma<strong>the</strong>matics, oceanography, and physics who intend <strong>to</strong><br />

pursue advanced degrees in <strong>the</strong> atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences are encouraged <strong>to</strong><br />

apply.<br />

<strong>The</strong> AMS encourages applications from women, minorities and disabled students, traditionally<br />

underrepresented in <strong>the</strong> atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences.<br />

• Budweiser Conservation Scholarship Program<br />

Deadline: Applications must be postmarked no later than January 13.<br />

Under <strong>the</strong> 2005 Budweiser Conservation Scholarship Program, a minimum <strong>of</strong> 10 <strong>scholarships</strong> <strong>of</strong> up <strong>to</strong> $10,000<br />

each will be awarded <strong>to</strong> cover students' expenses for tuition, fees, books, room and board, and o<strong>the</strong>r direct<br />

expenses related <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir studies.<br />

To be eligible for consideration, a student must be a U.S. citizen at least 21 years <strong>of</strong> age and enrolled in an<br />

accredited institution <strong>of</strong> higher education in <strong>the</strong> United States pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree<br />

(sophomores and juniors in <strong>the</strong> current academic year only) in environmental science, natural resource<br />

management, biology, public policy, geography, political science, or related disciplines.<br />
