o Currently Enrolled Undergraduate Students: <strong>The</strong> educa<strong>to</strong>rs for Maine Program is a competitive, meritbased,<br />

forgivable loan program for students who are planning a career in education in Maine and do not<br />

currently hold state certification. Any student who is a resident <strong>of</strong> Maine for purposes o<strong>the</strong>r than<br />

education, who has NOT completed any bachelor’s degree, and has a most recent cumulative GPA <strong>of</strong> at<br />

least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or <strong>the</strong> equivalent), may apply for a forgivable loan under <strong>the</strong> Educations for<br />

Maine Program. Students selected by <strong>the</strong> Educa<strong>to</strong>rs for Maine Selection Committee may receive up <strong>to</strong><br />

$3,000 annually up <strong>to</strong> a program maximum <strong>of</strong> $12,000 for full time undergraduate studies. <strong>The</strong><br />

Educa<strong>to</strong>rs for Maine forgivable loan is renewable if <strong>the</strong> recipient meets certain academic performance<br />

requirements and completes a renewal application by <strong>the</strong> deadline each year. Loans under <strong>the</strong> Educa<strong>to</strong>rs<br />
