• ADA Endowment and Assistance Fund, Inc. Scholarship Program<br />

<strong>The</strong> ADA Endowment and Assistance Fund, Inc. has as one <strong>of</strong> its charitable activities a scholarship program for<br />

dental students and allied dental health students. This program was established <strong>to</strong> encourage students <strong>to</strong> seek or<br />

continue <strong>to</strong> pursue careers in dentistry, dental hygiene, dental assisting and dental labora<strong>to</strong>ry technology.<br />

Criteria for eligibility is determined by <strong>the</strong> applicant’s demonstrated financial need, academic achievement and<br />

typed biographical sketch and letters <strong>of</strong> reference. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. <strong>The</strong> maximum annual<br />

award for dental student scholarship id $2,500 and $1,00 for allied dental health <strong>scholarships</strong>. <strong>The</strong> number <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>scholarships</strong> awarded is dependent upon funds available. Program criteria is as follows:<br />

Dental Student Scholarship – applicants must be entering second year, currently attending a dental school<br />

accredited by <strong>the</strong> Commission on Dental Accreditation; demonstrate a minimum financial need <strong>of</strong> $2,500; and<br />

must <strong>have</strong> accumulative grade point average <strong>of</strong> 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale. Deadline June 15 th .<br />

• ALLIED DENTAL HEALTH SCHOLARSHIP:<br />

o Dental Hygiene - applicants must be entering second year student and currently attending a<br />

dental hygiene school accredited by <strong>the</strong> Commission on Dental Accreditation; and must <strong>have</strong> an<br />

accumulative grade point average <strong>of</strong> 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale. Deadline August 15 th .<br />

o Dental Assisting – applicants must be students enrolled in a dental assisting program accredited<br />

by <strong>the</strong> Commission on Dental Accreditation, must <strong>have</strong> minimum GPA <strong>of</strong> 2.8 and show financial<br />

need. Deadline September 15 th .<br />

o Dental Labora<strong>to</strong>ry Technology – applicants must be entering first year or entering second year<br />

students currently attending or enrolled in a dental labora<strong>to</strong>ry technology program accredited by<br />

<strong>the</strong> Commission on Dental Accreditation. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum financial<br />

need <strong>of</strong> $1,000., and must <strong>have</strong> an accumulative grade point average <strong>of</strong> 2.8 based on a 4.0 scale.<br />

Deadline August 15 th .<br />
