<strong>The</strong> Founders’ Awards program is a loan program with a forgiveness option for doc<strong>to</strong>rs who establish <strong>the</strong>ir primary practice in<br />

sou<strong>the</strong>rn Arizona. Recipients are eligible for student loans at rates comparable <strong>to</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r student loan programs – and are not expected<br />

<strong>to</strong> begin paying <strong>the</strong> loan back until <strong>the</strong>y <strong>have</strong> completed ALL formal medical education, including internships and residencies. <strong>The</strong><br />

loan is interest free during <strong>the</strong> formal in-school period, internship and residency.<br />
