• Kenneth and Bessie Ladeau Trust Fund<br />

<strong>The</strong> Kenneth and Bessie Ladeau Trust Fund is a scholarship fund for eligible medical students. Applicants must <strong>have</strong><br />

completed <strong>the</strong>ir first year <strong>of</strong> medical school, be in good academic standing, and be <strong>of</strong> high moral character. Awards usually<br />

average $300 <strong>to</strong> $500 per year. Preference is given <strong>to</strong> residents <strong>of</strong> New Hampshire and Vermont. For more information write<br />

Scholarship Information:<br />

Each student may receive one <strong>of</strong> each scholarship. Any osteopathic student, after completion <strong>of</strong> one year <strong>of</strong> osteopathic<br />

training in any <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> legally accredited schools <strong>of</strong> osteopathic medicine, may apply for ei<strong>the</strong>r or both <strong>scholarships</strong>. Applicant<br />

must be a student member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Washing<strong>to</strong>n Osteopathic Medical Association. <strong>The</strong> application deadline is February 15.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Washing<strong>to</strong>n Osteopathic Foundation reserves <strong>the</strong> right <strong>to</strong> select scholarship recipients on <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> Washing<strong>to</strong>n<br />

residency or any o<strong>the</strong>r criteria within its sole discretion.<br />

<strong>The</strong> grant <strong>of</strong> any scholarship is conditional upon faithful attendance at classes and performance <strong>of</strong> duties as a student and<br />

upon maintenance <strong>of</strong> passing marks and honorable conduct without discredit <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> school, <strong>the</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>ession <strong>of</strong> osteopathic<br />

medicine or <strong>the</strong> Foundation.<br />

o Warren Lawless Scholarship - $1000<br />

Warren Lawless, former Executive Direc<strong>to</strong>r <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Washing<strong>to</strong>n Osteopathic Medical Association and current<br />

Chairman <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Western <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Health Sciences, is a strong believer in community service. He<br />

spent over thirty years working for <strong>the</strong> osteopathic pr<strong>of</strong>ession in various capacities. In addition he devoted hundreds<br />

<strong>of</strong> hours <strong>of</strong> service <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> West Seattle Kiwanis Club, <strong>the</strong> West Seattle Chamber <strong>of</strong> Commerce and o<strong>the</strong>r local<br />

organizations. Because <strong>of</strong> this, <strong>the</strong> selection process will be based, in a major way, on <strong>the</strong> applicant’s community<br />

o Eugene Imamura Scholarship - $1000<br />

Eugene Imamura, DO, retired from his Family Practice <strong>of</strong> 48 years in 2002. In recognition <strong>of</strong> assistance he received<br />

for his medical school education, he wanted <strong>to</strong> create a scholarship fund based on need. Upon his retirement, he
