<strong>The</strong> Lancaster Osteopathic Health Foundation (LOHF) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania will award two <strong>scholarships</strong> <strong>to</strong> students<br />

entering osteopathic medical school at Philadelphia College <strong>of</strong> Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in August 2006. Each<br />

<strong>scholarships</strong> is for $10,000 per year, for all four years <strong>of</strong> school (as long as <strong>the</strong> student continues <strong>to</strong> meet PCOM standards),<br />

a <strong>to</strong>tal <strong>of</strong> $40,000.<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>following</strong> are <strong>the</strong> eligibility/selection criteria:<br />

Applicants must be must be residents <strong>of</strong> Lancaster County OR be graduates <strong>of</strong> a Lancaster County College or <strong>University</strong>*<br />

(Franklin & Marshall College, Elizabeth<strong>to</strong>wn College, or Millersville <strong>University</strong>). (*Graduates with less than two year's full<br />

time credit at one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> three Lancaster County colleges are not eligible.)<br />

Applicants must <strong>have</strong> <strong>been</strong> accepted for admission by PCOM. (Documentation <strong>of</strong> PCOM admission is required.)<br />

Applicants are required <strong>to</strong> submit a transcript and MCAT scores.<br />

Applicants must submit two letters <strong>of</strong> recommendation, one from an osteopathic physician, and one prepared by <strong>the</strong>ir premed<br />

advisor and/or pre-health committee.<br />

Applicants must detail <strong>the</strong>ir undergraduate community engagement, and describe <strong>the</strong>ir interest in osteopathic medicine by<br />

answering specific questions.<br />

If appropriate, applicants should submit evidence <strong>of</strong> financial need through <strong>the</strong> FAFSA or o<strong>the</strong>r means.<br />

Scholarship finalists will be interviewed by a selection committee at <strong>the</strong> Foundation <strong>of</strong>fice in Lancaster.<br />

Early application is strongly encouraged. Deadline for submission <strong>of</strong> applications is Thursday, June 1, 2006. Questions<br />

o District 8 – Scholarship – Scholarship application deadline April 1 st , awarded in August. Scholarship available <strong>to</strong><br />

Pennsylvania residents (prior <strong>to</strong> entering osteopathic medical school) <strong>of</strong> District 8 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> POMA who will be<br />

entering <strong>the</strong> third or fourth year <strong>of</strong> any college <strong>of</strong> osteopathic medicine. Priority <strong>of</strong> scholarship will be given <strong>to</strong><br />

students who <strong>have</strong> scheduled a rotation with osteopathic physician(s) in District 8. (District 8 counties are:<br />

Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Somerset, Washing<strong>to</strong>n &<br />
