Loans are awarded in July and are applied toward tuition for 3 rd or 4 th year beginning August/ September.
• Western New New York Osteopathic Medical Society Annual Scholarship (1/06)
The purpose of the scholarship fund is to promote osteopathic medicine and education in the Western New York area,
Western New York being defined as the eight counties of Erie, Niagara, Genesee, Orleans, Wyoming, Allegheny,
Chautaugua and Cattaraugus.
Those eligible for the award would be Osteopathic medical students in their fourth year of matriculation that have either
resided in Western New York greater than four years or who have done clinical rotations in Western New York.
Annually, there will be two scholarships available in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500) each. The awards will be
based on an applicant’s academic excellence, community service and Western New York heritage.
Applications should be postmarked no later than April 1 st , 2006, winners will be notified by May 15th.

North Carolina residents who are physically or mentally disabled should apply to this organization for rehabilitation
assistance. Planning for medical school must be completed with the Rehabilitation Counselor prior to the student's Senior
year in undergraduate school. Each state has a Vocational Rehabilitation Division that could offer comparable financial
