Graduate and Undergraduate Criteria
The Health Research and Educational Trust of New Jersey (HRET), an affiliate of the New Jersey Hospital Association
(NJHA), believes it is particularly important to encourage and enable New Jersey residents to pursue health careers and,
therefore, has established a scholarship fund to assist in meeting this need. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply.
In recognition of the rising cost of higher education, and in cooperation with HRET, the New Jersey Hospital Association
will provide grants for financial support (minimum of $2,000 each to one or more applicants) to selected students who are
enrolled in the following programs:
Graduate study in hospital or healthcare administration, public administration, graduate study in Nursing or other Allied
Health Profession;
Junior or senior year undergraduate study in hospital or healthcare administration, public administration, Nursing or other
Allied Health Profession.
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Be a New Jersey resident;
Have been accepted in a graduate or undergraduate (junior and seniors only) program in hospital or healthcare administration
or a graduate or undergraduate (junior or senior only) program in Nursing or Allied Health Profession;
Have maintained a grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4 point system or equivalent);
Demonstration of financial need with a FAFSA document and financial aid application and/or federal tax return from the
previous year.
Deadline: Applications must be received by July 28, 2006

The New Jersey Osteopathic Education Foundation and the Auxiliary to the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic
Physicians and Surgeons has established a scholarship program. Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need,
osteopathic motivation and professional promise. New Jersey residents accepted for their first year of osteopathic study are
eligible. Recipients must agree to become a student member of the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and
Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association and continue these memberships while practicing in New Jersey. Upon
completion of an AOA approved internship/residency recipients must also agree to return to New Jersey to practice. The
deadline is April 30. The amount is between $5,000-$10,000.

Margaret Yardley Fellowship
A $1000 fellowship is made available each year to a post-graduate woman student who is a resident of New Jersey, to be
used toward payment of her tuition only. The committee considers the applicant's scholastic achievement, career service
potential, and finanical need. Applications are available until February 1. Application requests must be accompanied by a
stamped, self-addressed envelope.
The completed application is due March 1.
