Medical students who reside in <strong>the</strong> geographical area <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Western Michigan Osteopathic Association who <strong>have</strong> <strong>been</strong><br />

accepted <strong>to</strong> medical education programs accredited by <strong>the</strong> American Medical Osteopathic Association and who plan <strong>to</strong><br />

practice osteopathic medicine are given consideration for <strong>scholarships</strong>.<br />

Although not required, recipient will be urged <strong>to</strong> practice osteopathic medicine in <strong>the</strong> geographical boundaries <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Western<br />

Michigan Osteopathic Association. Scholarship funds are <strong>to</strong> be used for related tuition and fees and for instruction related<br />

fees, books, supplies and equipment. Scholarship recipients will be required <strong>to</strong> submit a report verifying satisfac<strong>to</strong>ry<br />

academic progress each year scholarship money is granted. As a condition <strong>of</strong> payment <strong>of</strong> scholarship money <strong>to</strong> a medical<br />

student, <strong>the</strong> medical student must agree <strong>to</strong> participate in <strong>the</strong> Osteochamps program as a men<strong>to</strong>r for a High School<br />

Osteochamps participant sponsored by <strong>the</strong> Foundation. Application deadline is February 1.<br />
