Jewish Scholarship Funds<br />

<strong>The</strong> Jewish Vocational Service processes academic <strong>scholarships</strong> <strong>to</strong>taling $200,000 each year. Applicants must be Jewish,<br />

legally domiciled in <strong>the</strong> metropolitan Chicago area, and a full-time student in pr<strong>of</strong>essional training for a helping pr<strong>of</strong>ession.<br />

Academic accomplishments and financial need are reviewed. A personal interview is necessary before May 1.<br />

o For <strong>the</strong> Marcus and <strong>The</strong>resa Levie Educational Fund, you must be legally domiciled in Cook County.<br />

o <strong>The</strong> Yonover awards are open <strong>to</strong> residents <strong>of</strong> Northwest Indiana.<br />

Indiana Black Expo proudly presents one <strong>of</strong> Indiana's largest scholarship funds. <strong>The</strong> basic goal <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> program is <strong>to</strong> recognize<br />

and award deserving minority students from Indiana, who <strong>have</strong> made outstanding contributions in <strong>the</strong> areas <strong>of</strong> academics and<br />

artistic expression. IBE <strong>of</strong>fers both undergraduate and graduate <strong>scholarships</strong>. <strong>The</strong> <strong>scholarships</strong> are payable upon <strong>the</strong><br />

recipient's full-time enrollment in a post secondary institution that meets <strong>the</strong> federal default guidelines for <strong>the</strong> Stafford<br />

Student Loan program. Applicants must <strong>have</strong> a grade point average <strong>of</strong> at least 2.0.<br />

KANSAS<br />

• Kansas Osteopathic Medical Service Scholarship<br />

Designed <strong>to</strong> encourage primary care physicians <strong>to</strong> establish practices in rural areas <strong>of</strong> Kansas. Recipients receive $15,000 per<br />

year for up <strong>to</strong> four years <strong>of</strong> study at nationally accredited osteopathic schools. Preference goes <strong>to</strong> first year students.<br />

Recipients return one year <strong>of</strong> practice for each year <strong>of</strong> assistance. Applicants must complete a program application and <strong>the</strong><br />

designated financial aid application.<br />
