ALABAMA

The Alabama Osteopathic Medical Association awards one $2,500 scholarship annually to an applicant who is currently
enrolled in a college of osteopathic medicine and is in satisfactory academic standing. Applicant must intend to return to the
state of Alabama to practice medicine for a minimum of one year after completing medical school, internship, and residency.
To apply, the applicant must provide a biographical letter containing pertinent information regarding background, how/why
you’ve chosen osteopathic medicine as your profession, pre-medical education information, and a statement of reason/need
for financial assistance. Applicant must also provide a reference from at least one osteopathic physician currently in practice
in the State of Alabama and academic transcripts from a College of Osteopathic Medicine.

All applicants will receive a letter regarding whether or not they have been selected to receive a scholarship award or internship.
o ANTHC $5,000 scholarship program
The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) Education and Development department awards five (5)
scholarships of five-thousand (5,000) dollars per academic year in healthcare-related fields to full-time
undergraduate students and five (5) scholarships of five-thousand (5,000) dollars per academic year in healthcarerelated
fields to full-time graduate students who are Alaska Native or American Indian permanent Alaska residents.
ANTHC grants these scholarships as an integral part of its long-term strategy of providing the highest quality health
care services to all Alaska Natives and American Indians. ANTHC graduate scholarships provide supplemental
funds for graduate education for students with the greatest demonstrated need.
o ANTHC summer internship program
Awards nine-week paid summer internships to approximately twenty-five (25) high school and undergraduate
students and five (5) graduate students who are Alaska Native or American Indian permanent Alaska residents.
ANTHC grants these internships as an integral part of its long-term strategy of providing the highest quality health
services to all Alaska Natives and American Indians and providing work experience in a range of medical
professions and support services including; finance, human resources, health records, computer technology,
engineering, maintenance, and housekeeping.
o Indian Health Service (IHS) scholarship program
The Indian Health Service (IHS) Scholarship provides selected scholarship recipients who are Alaska Native or
American Indian permanent Alaska residents with paid tuition, related fees, a small amount for travel and books,
and a monthly stipend for living expenses. IHS currently funds three (3) health career and allied health career
scholarship programs:
