o Alice W. Rooke Scholarship<br />

<strong>The</strong> Alice W. Rooke Scholarship is awarded <strong>to</strong> students who <strong>have</strong> <strong>been</strong> accepted in<strong>to</strong> or are pursuing an approved<br />

course <strong>of</strong> study <strong>to</strong> become a medical doc<strong>to</strong>r (not pre-med) at an approved, accredited medical school.<br />

Deadline: April 15.<br />

o Irene and Daisy MacGregor Memorial Scholarship<br />

<strong>The</strong> Irene and Daisy MacGregor Memorial Scholarship is awarded <strong>to</strong> students <strong>of</strong> high scholastic standing and<br />

character who <strong>have</strong> <strong>been</strong> accepted in<strong>to</strong> or are pursuing an approved course <strong>of</strong> study <strong>to</strong> become a medical doc<strong>to</strong>r (not<br />

pre-med) at an approved, accredited medical school.<br />

This scholarship is also available <strong>to</strong> students who <strong>have</strong> <strong>been</strong> accepted in<strong>to</strong> or who are pursing an approved course <strong>of</strong><br />

study in <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> psychiatric nursing at <strong>the</strong> graduate level at accredited medical schools, colleges, or universities.<br />

<strong>The</strong>re is a preference <strong>to</strong> females "if equally qualified".<br />

o Dr. Francis Anthony Beneventi Medical Scholarship<br />

<strong>The</strong> Dr. Francis Anthony Beneventi Medical Scholarship is a preferred amount $5,000 scholarship awarded for up <strong>to</strong><br />

four years for a student ei<strong>the</strong>r attending or planning <strong>to</strong> attend an approved, accredited medical school, college or<br />

university.<br />

<strong>The</strong> applicant must <strong>have</strong> a minimum GPA <strong>of</strong> 3.25. <strong>The</strong> award is renewable annually for up <strong>to</strong> four consecutive<br />

years, pending receipt <strong>of</strong> pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> continued enrollment and after <strong>the</strong> first semester, an annual transcript review<br />

indicating a minimum GPA <strong>of</strong> 3.25.<br />

Osage Student Award Program<br />

Students who are members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Osage Indian Tribe may be eligible for a scholarship from <strong>the</strong> Osage Tribal Education Committee;<br />

<strong>the</strong> amount is fixed annually by <strong>the</strong> committee. Applications are rated and ranked according <strong>to</strong> a point system which includes blood<br />

quantum, academics, two recommendations from <strong>the</strong> faculty, and a personal statement from <strong>the</strong> student.<br />

Deadlines are July 1 for fall, December 31 for spring, and May 1 for summer. Award recipients are notified within 30 days from <strong>the</strong><br />

closing date for receiving applications.<br />

• Osteopathic Foundation <strong>of</strong> Yakima, WA<br />

Scholarships are available <strong>to</strong> residents <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Pacific Northwest (Washing<strong>to</strong>n, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska) who demonstrate significant<br />

financial need. Applicants must be at least a second year medical student in good standing at a legally accredited school <strong>of</strong><br />

Osteopathic Medicine and/or Surgery.<br />

Scholarships recipients shall agree <strong>to</strong> establish and maintain a Practice <strong>of</strong> Medicine in Yakima County, Washing<strong>to</strong>n, or, in such o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

area approved by <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Direc<strong>to</strong>rs <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Osteopathic Foundation <strong>of</strong> Yakima, for a period <strong>of</strong> at least three continuous years<br />

immediately <strong>following</strong> completion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> degree requirements and one year <strong>of</strong> internship/residency.<br />

Scholarships up <strong>to</strong> $10,000 may be made available on an annual basis, provided funds are available from <strong>the</strong> Foundation. <strong>The</strong><br />

application deadline is May 13.<br />
