o F. Edward Hebert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program for Medicine

This program permits selected students to be considered as officers in the Medical Corp of the U.S. Army Reserve
while they are completing medical school. The program pays for tuition, books, lab fees and other expenses
necessary to complete school. Also, students will receive a monthly stipend for ten and one-half months each year.
For the remaining one and one-half months, students will receive full pay and allowances as a second lieutnant and
will be afforded the opportunity to work at one of the Army's major medical centers. Upon completion of medical
school, students will be advanced to the rank of Captain and continue their training by completion of a residency
program. The scholarship is offered for 2, 3, and 4 years.
There are approximately seven selection Boards throughout the year.

o U.S. Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program
This program pays for full tuition, fees, books, lab fees and other expenses necessary to complete school. Also,
students will receive a monthly stipend for ten and one-half months each year. The Air Force requires 45 days of
Active Duty Training period with pay and allowances as an Air Force second lieutenant while in school for each
year of support provided, plus one year of active duty service after completion of internship and residency training.

o U.S. Naval Reserve Specialized Training Assistance Program (STIPEND)
This program is available to certain physician specialists enrolled in full-time accredited programs in critically
needed areas. The Naval Reserve is a force of highly trained people available in a national emergency to meet the
expanded needs of the regular Navy. Most reservists serve in a part-time status consisting of two days a month and
an annual two-week period of duty called Annual Training. A stipend is paid on a monthly basis. For each year
financial assistance is given, participants incur a two-year drilling obligation in the Naval Reserve after completion
of the training program. Participants receive pay in addition to the stipend payment. For more information contact
