NSDAR awards the following scholarships through the DAR Scholarship Committee. All applicants must be
citizens of the US and must attend, or plan to attend, an accredited college or university in the US.
(These are one time awards of $5000. It is only necessary to submit one application for consideration for any
award in this group).
Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship – a one time $500 scholarship for students who are in financial need and
desire to attend or are attending an accredited school of nursing. Deadline – February 15 th or August 15 th .
Mildred Nutting Scholarship – a one time $500 scholarship for students who have been accepted or are
currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. Preference will be given to candidates from the greater
Lowell MA area. Deadline – February 15 th or August 15 th
Madeline Picket Halbert Cogswell Nursing Scholarship – a one time $500 scholarship for students who desire
to attend or are attending an accredited school of nursing, who are members of the NSDAR, descendants of
members of the NSDAR, or are eligible to be members of the NSDAR. DAR Member Number must be on the
Application. Deadline – February 15 th or August 15 th .
Lillian and Arthur Dunn Scholarship – a $2,000 scholarship awarded for up to four years to well qualified,
deserving sons and daughters of members of the NSDAR for four years of college. Outstanding recipients will
be considered for an additional period of up to four years of study. DAR Member Number of mother must be on
the Application. Deadline – February 15 th .

All applicants must be students currently enrolled in state-approved schools of nursing or pre-nursing in
associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, generic doctorate, and generic master's programs. (Pre-nursing
students are students enrolled in college or university programs designed as preparation for entrance into a
program leading to an associate degree, diploma, or baccalaureate degree in nursing.) High school students are
not eligible. Graduating high school seniors are not eligible. The student must be taking class equivalent to no
less than six academic credits.

• New England Navy Nurse Corps Association Scholarship – Middletown RI
The New England Navy Nurse Corps Association Scholarship Committee has established a fund to award
scholarships to deserving nursing students and Registered Nurses to continue their studies for a Baccalaureate
or Master’s degree in Nursing. The amount of the award will be $1,000., at this time they will award one
scholarship a year.
Eligibility: Applicants for scholarships for the Baccalaureate Degree must:
Be accepted by an accredited nursing program;
Give evidence of successful completion of at least one clinical nursing course;
Submit a transcript from a current or completed program;
Obtain 2 recommendations from faculty members or professional persons on official letterhead;
Submit a personal statement of 500 words or less giving reasons yu are qualified for a scholarship including
career goals and potential for contribution to the profession;
