Scholarship recipients will be selected on <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> academic achievement, financial need and potential <strong>to</strong><br />

succeed in <strong>the</strong> student’s chosen educational field. This is a competitive scholarship program. Selections are<br />

based on information received from <strong>the</strong> application and <strong>the</strong> additional requested materials postmarked no later<br />

than April 1.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Bos<strong>to</strong>n Realty Advisors Scholarship is a $500 grant designed for students concentrating in Real Estate or<br />

planning <strong>to</strong> become involved in <strong>the</strong> Real Estate sec<strong>to</strong>r—this can include owning property for investment<br />

purposes. Recipient(s) will be notified by e-mail and by phone within two weeks <strong>of</strong> deadline. Scholarship<br />

<strong>The</strong> BPW Foundation established <strong>the</strong> Career Advancement Scholarship Program in 1969 <strong>to</strong> provide financial<br />

assistance <strong>to</strong> disadvantaged women seeking <strong>to</strong> fur<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>ir education. Scholarships are provided <strong>to</strong> women who<br />

wish <strong>to</strong> advance in <strong>the</strong>ir careers, or are soon <strong>to</strong> enter or re-enter <strong>the</strong> workforce. <strong>The</strong> Foundation has awarded<br />

more than $6 million in <strong>scholarships</strong>, grants, and loans <strong>to</strong> over 8,000 women seeking <strong>to</strong> improve <strong>the</strong>ir lives.<br />

2006-2007 Career Advancement Scholarship Criteria<br />

Be a female<br />

Be at least 25 years <strong>of</strong> age by May 2, 2006<br />

Be a US citizen or US national<br />

Demonstrate critical financial need<br />

Be <strong>of</strong>ficially accepted in<strong>to</strong> an accredited program or certificate program at a US college or university,<br />

including American Samoa, Puer<strong>to</strong> Rico and <strong>the</strong> Virgin Islands<br />

Plan <strong>to</strong> graduate or receive certification between December 1, 2006 and August 31, 2008.<br />

Demonstrate clear career plans<br />

Not be earning a doc<strong>to</strong>ral-level or terminal degree, such as a PhD, MD, DDS, DVM, JD, etc.<br />

Applications for 2006-2007 <strong>scholarships</strong> must be received on or before April 15, 2006.<br />
