The building, home to the Sioux since the 1951- 52 season, was host to 538 UND victories with just 149 defeats. The Sioux opened their brand new facility – the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center – in November 2004, as the primary home to Fighting Sioux basketball. The Ralph Engelstad Arena – home to the Fighting Sioux men’s and women’s hockey teams – has also been a home venue for UND basketball games since its opening. On Dec. 22, 2001 it was the site of the largest crowd to ever watch a basketball game in the state of North Dakota, when 13,280 attended a UND-University of Kansas game. 18
