During Brian Jones’ tenure at the University of Iowa,
he had a hand in developing eight All-Big Ten players
at the guard and post positions. Additionally, a frontline
player led the Big Ten conference in rebounding
in six of the past seven years and led the conference in
blocked shots for three straight years.
PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
All incoming players are evaluated when they arrive
on campus. A detailed and individualized program for
each player is developed that builds on strengths while
eliminating weaknesses. By the time the player leaves
the program, there will be no limitations in his game
and he will be prepared for the next level.
Coach Jones and his staff have broken down player
development into six fundamental areas: 1) footwork
2) ball handling & passing 3) shots off the catch/dribble
4) 1-on-1 moves 5) team defense 6) strength &
conditioning.
