Coach<br />
1st Season<br />
Quinn Peterson is in his first season as the strength and<br />
conditioning coach for the UND men’s and women’s basketball<br />
programs. Peterson, a Stromsburg, Neb., native, joined<br />
UND athletics in 2006.<br />
Peterson, who graduated in 2004 from Nebraska-Omaha<br />
with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, earned a master’s<br />
degree in intercollegiate athletics from Kansas State in 2006.<br />
He is a Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCCC) by the<br />
Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association,<br />
and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)<br />
by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.<br />
Peterson resides with his wife, Emily, and daughter, Lilly (1),<br />
in Grand Forks.<br />
ERIKA HUNT<br />
Certified Athletic Trainer<br />
4th Season<br />
Erika Hunt is in her fourth season at UND and her third as<br />
certified athletic trainer for the women’s and men’s basketball<br />
teams. Hunt was hired as a full-time athletic trainer in the summer<br />
<strong>of</strong> 2005 after having served the previous two seasons as a<br />
graduate assistant at UND, working primarily with the<br />
Fighting Sioux volleyball and s<strong>of</strong>tball teams.<br />
A native <strong>of</strong> Rock Lake, N.D., Hunt is a 2003 graduate <strong>of</strong><br />
the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Mary and received her master’s degree in<br />
kinesiology from UND in 2005.<br />
TRAVIS KAHLBAUGH<br />
Equipment Manager<br />
3rd Season<br />
JAYSON HAJDU<br />
Media Relations<br />
5th Season<br />
Having served the past two seasons as equipment manager<br />
for UND’s women’s hockey team, Travis Kahlbaugh adds<br />
women’s and men’s basketball, volleyball and soccer to his<br />
duties in 2006-07.<br />
Kahlbaugh is a 2000 graduate <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>North</strong><br />
<strong>Dakota</strong> with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and<br />
teaching and learning. Before coming to UND, he spent the<br />
previous four years teaching in Grand Forks and Rugby, N.D.<br />
Kahlbaugh’s hockey background includes a stint as a player<br />
in the AFHL, as well as coaching experience in Grand<br />
Forks and Rugby (N.D.).<br />
A native <strong>of</strong> Grand Forks, Kahlbaugh is a 1996 high school<br />
graduate <strong>of</strong> Grand Forks Central High School.<br />
Jayson Hajdu is in his fifth year as assistant director <strong>of</strong> athletic<br />
media relations at UND and his second season as the primary<br />
contact for women’s and men’s basketball. He also<br />
serves as the primary contact for football and men’s and<br />
women’s golf.<br />
A member <strong>of</strong> the College Sports Information Directors <strong>of</strong><br />
America (CoSIDA), Hajdu has garnered 12 CoSIDA<br />
Publication Awards, including four “Best in the Nation” citations.<br />
Hajdu is a 2000 graduate <strong>of</strong> UND with a bachelor’s<br />
degree in communication. A native <strong>of</strong> Regina, Sask., Hajdu<br />
served as a graduate assistant in the UND athletic media relations<br />
department for two seasons prior to being appointed fulltime.<br />
Prior to that, he served as an undergraduate student assistant<br />
from 1995 to 2000.<br />
