North thDakota aoa 2013 NORTH DAKOTA BASEBALL UND’s Academic Awards Night in February honored 276 student-athletes who achieved either a 3.0 GPA during the fall semester or a cumulative 3.0 through the Fall 2011 semester. Nearly 67 percent of UND’s student-athletes achieved this high honor, including 40 who owned a perfect 4.0 GPA. NOTABLE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS IN 2011-12 • UND’s student-athletes owned a collective 3.173 GPA in 2011-12, the highest in department history. • A school-record 115 studentathletes earned academic allconference honors from the GWC, WCHA, WAC, MPSF and America Sky. • More than 65 percent of UND’s student-athletes boasted a 3.0 GPA during the Spring 2012 semester alone. The George and Arlene Schubert Athletics Academic Center provides a comfortable and centrallylocated site to aid in the promotion of academics for all student-athletes. The George and Arlene Schubert Athletics Academic Center, which opened in April 2008, serves as a study center for student-athletes and is conveniently located in the Hyslop Sports Center. Academic services director Amanda Hajdu oversees the study center, which features 12 state-of-the-art, desktop computers and provides an excellent location for student-athletes to utilize between classes for valuable daytime study. The academic center is also available on demand to student-athletes for evening study table. UND’s student-athletes also have access to a variety of laptop computers for use on road trips, further emphasizing a department-wide commitment to academics. • Lindsay Anderson (track) and Jocelyne Lamoureux (hockey) earned Academic All-America honors. • Senior goalie Brad Eidsness received an NCAA postgraduate scholarship and was the WCHA Most Outstanding Male Student- Athlete of the Year. • UND’s women’s golf program received public recognition from the NCAA for the second straight year for its outstanding multiyear Academic Progress Rate (APR). UND’s APR ranked in the top 10 percent of all Division I women’s golf programs, which accounts for the 2007-08 through 2010-11 academic years. • Men’s and women’s track/cross country and men’s and women’s swimming/diving each earned All- America team honors from their respective national organizations. 8 ACADEMIC SUCCESS
