them the opportunity to send their children to school. More importantly, economically empowered women have been positively as an important contributor to the home by their family members. In Nangarhar and Bamyan, a training programme on the production of vegetables through the use of greenhouses was conducted for 30 women. This training has equipped the women with the skills to produce vegetables throughout the year which can increase their income and also ensure food and nutritional year around including the harsh winters. Credit: UNDP In addition, a Letter of Intent was signed between UNDP and the Organization of Security and Economic Cooperation in Vienna. The objective is to train fifteen selected women entrepreneurs on the basis of a specific criteria and give them technical support over a year to improve their marketing and IT skills to access markets, within Afghanistan and abroad. The women entrepreneurs have been selected and preparations are underway for their training in Turkey in September. 12 | P a g e
