~ Joe The cold weather strikes
again and first thing Sunday
morning I thought this is not so
bad. Once on my way to
Pinehaven, the big Kawa gave me a
fresh reading of -2 degrees going
over Hillsnacks. At first it was only
Lawrie and myself but then we
started t chatting to afellow fll biker,
discovering that this is Dave from
the East London chapter, awaiting
his colleague from the North, the
one and only Allan Russell.
Now can you believe this, in the
freezing weather we end up with
mini rally of ugly buggers – 2 from
the Woes Rand, one from the North
and one from the East Coast. A
vote was called and decided that
any spot with a fireplace will do.
Allan knows a place, so he led the
pack out towards Harties in the
fresh Highveld air on some twisty
roads. Before long we stopped at
the Windmill – no fireplace and all
forgive Allan for this since he
was our famous sweeper and
not leader and since we are
from the Woes Rand, we are
brave enough to enjoy coffee
outside in the fresh air. Some
good stories were swopped out
and then Lawrie and myself
went on a jolly ride while the
others headed back home.
Next stop was Zakkers were we
enjoyed and quick OBS and
some good biker company from
Pretoria. Then off to Upper
Deck for another one of those
and finally we pulled in at
Route 66 where we joined a few
of the Old Farts for a chat and a
drink. On the way back I
cruised at a steady 160 on the
GTR and thought to myself –
what a nice day this turned out
while everybody was hiding
under the blankets.
Guess Who?

Hoodlums DayJol.~ We few meet
at Andre’s place before heading to the dayjol site,
literally down the road..
Finding Fin there and later Rob arrived, a good
compliment of members supporting a good
cause.
The sun was great once the wind slowed to a
gust, but all this could not blow away the happy
spirit that surrounded us with laughter and jokes,
with a few stories.

Rand Pack will do a long run to the
Kitty Hawk Airfield Pretoria.

There was a good turnout throughout the
day with lots of revving and burnouts, all
controlled in a quiet street.
As day jols go you will always find people
you know and have a good chat about all
things bike while enjoying the biker vibe.
Thanks to Toppie and the Hoodlums for
making this a great day of biking
brotherhood, with good music and friends
thrown into the mix.
