ORGACON
ORGACON
Orgacon products are transparent coating
solutions based on conductive polymer, which can
be used as alternative material to ITO (Indium Tin
Oxide) for electrodes and antistatic layers.
Orgacon products are used in applications such
as touch screens, mobile phone and pda displays,
dashboard panels etc.
ORGACON
PEDOT/PSS is widely used in industrial applications
and is the most processable, transparent and stable
intrinsic conductive polymer having a conductivity
independent from relative humidity.
The active component in ORGACON products is the
water based electronic conductive polymer dispersion
PEDOT/PSS. This transparent conductive polymer was
developed and implemented. More than 15 years ago,
this transparent as an antistatic protection coating on
photographic materials. It can be used without any
problem as transparent antistatic and ESD protection
coating on plastic films and other objects.
ORGACON products include: transparent conductive
coating solutions, coated films and inks.
ORGACON is printable, flexible and even thermal or
cold formable. This enables a variety of new applications
as wearable and shape integrated electronics.
Transparent inorganic vacuum deposited coatings (ITO)
do not have these “flexible” application opportunities!
Printability
With screen printing inks a transparent conductive
pattern can directly be applied onto the substrate.
An assortment of different inks is available.
Inks for other printing technologies are under
development, samples are available.
The required resolution of the pattern to be printed,
defines the printing technology and the ink properties.
In principle, any type of surface can be printed on,
but a pre-treatment of specific surfaces can be required.
Flexibility
ORGACON inks can be printed on very flexible and
tissue like substrates, and even multiple flexing has no
impact on its conductivity.
Orgacon’s flexibility opens a world of new applications;
even wearable electronics become a possibility.
For applications where mechanical flexibility determines
lifetime (flexible EL-lamps, touch screens) ORGACON
will be a good choice.
Formability
In some applications it can be beneficial to coat the
conductive coating or print the design of a device on
a flat film and form the printed film into a 3D object
afterwards. Some examples of this process are applied
in ESD protective packaging of electronic components
or in 3D EL-lamps made by in-mould technology. As the
ORGACON electrode will survive the forming and the
high temperature resin injection process, this results into
low cost production processes. The electronic device is
integrated into a 3D object.
Patterning
ORGACON films can be patterned by a chemical
treatment (de-activation liquid) which changes the path
from conductive to non- conductive without lifting off
the coated layer. In this way a nearly invisible conductive
pattern for touch screens and displays can be made.
ORGACON films can also be laser light patterned.
