5. Applicator pipe<br />

The spray requirements specify a uniform<br />

solid-cone mist with a minimum horizontal<br />

range of 12 feet. The flow rate at a tip<br />

pressure of 100 psi must be within the<br />

range shown in the following table:<br />

An applicator pipe, or wand, is available for<br />

reaching under logs, roots, stumps, and into<br />

the base of piled fuels. It can be used in deep<br />

duff, peat, and sawdust. The applicator is 52<br />

inches long, comes apart in the middle, and<br />

has a 15-degree bend near the end. All<br />

connections are w-inch GHT male threads to<br />

accommodate a special low-flow spray tip (3<br />

gal/min with a 60 degree pattern). It is also a<br />

component of the Mop-up Kit.<br />
