4. Hose packing boxes and devices<br />

a. Gansner pack<br />

The boxes and devices seen here are used<br />

to produce the Gansner hose pack (see<br />

3.d). Similar boxes are used to produce<br />

other types of hose packs. Step-by-step<br />

procedures for packing the Gansner hose<br />

pack are available.<br />

Construction and materials: Two 100 foot<br />

lengths of 12-inch all-synthetic hose single<br />

donut roll with female coupling outside and<br />

one 100 foot length all-synthetic hose single<br />

donut roll with female coupling outside. A<br />

hose line tee and a 12-inch NH by 1 inch<br />

NPSH reducer is included and an<br />

adjustable barrel combination nozzle is<br />

attached to the 1 inch hose. The pack is<br />

constructed of polypropylene webbing,<br />

1,000 Denier Cordura, and acetyl buckles.<br />
