Provide the fire management staff with the contractor’s
estimated costs to transport relief crew members prior to
ordering the relief crews. Reviews the contract
specifications for relief costs and provides documentation
on the Aircraft Use Report (AMD 23E) if the costs exceed
the limits identified in the contract.
Accurately record the amount of retardant that is being
delivered to the incident on the SEAT Daily Operations
Worksheet (SEAT-002) and the Aircraft Use Report (AMD
23E).
Document the refractometer readings taken by the
contractor on the SEAT Daily Operations Worksheet
(SEAT-002). Ensure retardant lot quality acceptance by
routing samples accordingly.
Document the fuel quantity in hours and tenths of hour, as
reported by the SEAT pilot prior to each flight on the SEAT
Daily Operations Worksheet (SEAT-002).
Complete the AMD Evaluation Report on Contractor
Performance at the end of their assignment for each of the
aircraft they have managed, and submit a copy to the
Contract Officer (CO).
Ensures the “READ File” is available for pilots to review
and sign. The READ File can be found at:

Document all aircraft maintenance on daily operations
worksheet, and ensure COTR authorization to put aircraft
back in contract availability if unscheduled maintenance
resulted in unavailability. Communicate with local
aviation manager.
When SEAT aircraft are utilized by neighbor units, the
originally assigned SEMG shall promptly contact the
receiving SEMG/ATBM to discuss span of control and
administrative duties.
