The Skinner Effect
Since his arrival in the Bluegrass, Craig Skinner has
triumphantly returned the Kentucky Volleyball program to
among the nation’s elite.
In just two seasons, the Skinner
Effect has produced:
• Back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances for first time since
the 1992-93 seasons
• The team’s first NCAA Tournament victory since 1992
• Consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 1992-93
• A doubling in home-match attendance that made the Wildcats
one of only two Southeastern Conference schools to average
1,000 or more fans per home match
• Two upsets of top 25 teams for the first time since the
1993 campaign
• Two top-30 recruiting classes, including the nation’s
eighth-ranked class this season
• Six All-SEC selections including the SEC Freshman of the Year
(2006) and the SEC Defensive Player of the Year (2005)
• Ten Academic All-SEC Selections
• An increased presence in the community that includes the
team’s involvement with Habitat for Humanity
• The 2005 Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year
