SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
• Located in Athens, Ga. (378 miles south of
Lexington), Georgia is in the SEC’s East division.
• Georgia enters Wednesday’s game with a 3-2
record in league play. The Bulldogs come into the
game off a heartbreaking loss at No. 10 Alabama
on Saturday, where they never trailed until a
buzzer-beating shot by Ronald Steele sank the
Bulldogs 78-76.
• Prior to the Alabama game, the Bulldogs had
won three league games in a row (vs. USC, vs.
Vanderbilt, at Arkansas). They are also one of
only four teams (Kentucky, Florida, Vanderbilt)
to have a league road win, doing so at Arkansas.
• The Bulldogs are under the direction of fifthyear
head coach George Felton. Felton has guided
Georgia to a 50-55 record. He is 150-109 in nine
years as a head coach, having served as the head
man at Western Kentucky for five years before
going to Athens. Felton is 3-5 against UK.
PEACH STATE SUCCESS
Over the years, the Wildcats have met with
success when it comes to schools from the Peach
State. Kentucky possesses a 168-37 (.820) record
against teams from the state of Georgia. The bulk
of UK’s games against Georgia based teams have
come against SEC rival Georgia (106-21).
The Wildcats also enjoy a 99-43 record when
playing in the state of Georgia.
WHO AM I?
Bespectacled, husky-voiced and heavily built
(though he has lost weight in recent years), this
Georgia attendee has been one of Hollywood's
busiest and most recognizable character actors
since the early-1990s. He was an undergraduate at
the University of Georgia where a professor once
told him that if he loved the theatre, he should
stay big. He left the college as an honor student
but one credit shy of a degree to pursue his career
at the Barter Theatre in Virginia. He is best
known for his role as Newman, the self-serving
postman on the hit TV show Seinfeld.
