UK’s commitment to its student-athletes is evident <strong>in</strong> the<br />
support personnel and resources provided through the<br />
Ohio Casualty Center for Academic & Tutorial<br />
Services (CATS).<br />
T H E F A C T S A B O U T C AT S<br />
■ <strong>Kentucky</strong> was the first school <strong>in</strong> the nation to<br />
open an academic center dedicated exclusively<br />
to student-athletes<br />
■ <strong>Kentucky</strong> has won the Academic Achievement<br />
Award for hav<strong>in</strong>g the nation’s highest<br />
graduation rate<br />
■ S<strong>in</strong>ce 1984, UK has placed 380 players on the<br />
Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll,<br />
more than any other league school<br />
■ The current CATS was built at a cost <strong>of</strong> $2.4<br />
million and <strong>in</strong>cludes:<br />
■ Spacious study areas and tutor<strong>in</strong>g rooms<br />
■ 20,000 square feet <strong>of</strong> space<br />
■ A career development and life skills resource<br />
center<br />
■ Community outreach <strong>of</strong>fice<br />
■ CATS is led by Bob Bradley, two-time w<strong>in</strong>ner<br />
<strong>of</strong> the National Academic Advisor <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Year and also the CHAMPS Life Skills<br />
Coord<strong>in</strong>ator <strong>of</strong> the Year<br />
■ CATS has a full-time staff <strong>of</strong> 10, plus<br />
numerous graduate assistants and tutors<br />
In 1981, <strong>Kentucky</strong> was the first school to open an<br />
academic center dedicated exclusively to student-athletes.<br />
A new academic center, shown above, was opened <strong>in</strong> 1998.<br />

<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kentucky</strong> student-athletes ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>ed an<br />
exhausted eligibility rate <strong>of</strong> 90 percent for the third<br />
consecutive year <strong>in</strong> 2007.<br />
