Schwake<br />

Assistant Director <strong>of</strong> Marketing<br />

Nathan Schwake is in his second<br />

year as the Assistant Director<br />

<strong>of</strong> Marketing, his first directing the marketing<br />

efforts for the UK Hoops team. He also is responsible<br />

for the marketing and promotion efforts for<br />

baseball, men’s soccer, as well as assisting with the<br />

planning and execution <strong>of</strong> game day marketing at<br />

all home football and men’s basketball games.<br />

Prior to his current position, Schwake spent<br />

two years as a full-time intern in UK’s Marketing<br />

and Promotions department.<br />

During his time at UK, the men’s soccer team<br />

has seen a record attendance both for a single game<br />

(3,327) and season average (1,002 in 2005). Additionally,<br />

the 2008 <strong>Kentucky</strong> Baseball team saw a<br />

record for season tickets sold while setting single<br />

game, series and season attendance marks. During<br />

the record setting 2006 SEC Baseball Championship<br />

season, the team ranked 35th in average<br />

attendance in the nation, the highest such mark in<br />

the program’s history.<br />

Schwake graduated from Iowa State <strong>University</strong><br />

in December 2003 with a degree in marketing.<br />

During his final year at ISU, he worked in the athletic<br />

marketing <strong>of</strong>fice primarily working with the<br />

wrestling and s<strong>of</strong>tball programs. Schwake also<br />

spent the summer <strong>of</strong> 2003 as a game-day intern for<br />

the Des Moines Menace development league soccer<br />

club.<br />

The Nevada, Iowa, native is single and resides<br />

in Lexington.<br />

Stefanopoulos<br />

Video Coordinator<br />

Women’s Basketball<br />

Christian Stefanopoulos<br />

begins her second year with the women’s basketball<br />

program as the coaching video coordinator.<br />

Her job duties include assisting the coaching staff<br />

in opponent scouting reports and coordinating all<br />

aspects <strong>of</strong> film exchange and video editing for<br />

opponents and team edits.<br />

Prior to UK, Stefanopoulos served as a graduate<br />

assistant coach during the 2006-07 season<br />

under Coach Matthew Mitchell at Morehead State<br />

<strong>University</strong>. Through the years, she also has worked<br />

as a coach at numerous basketball camps throughout<br />

the country.<br />

As a collegiate player, Stefanopoulos played<br />

two seasons at Austin Peay <strong>University</strong> in<br />

Clarksville, Tenn., where she helped the Lady<br />

Governors advance to back-to-back (2002-03 and<br />

2003-04) Ohio Valley Conference and Tournament<br />

Championships, therefore catapulting them<br />

into the NCAA Tournament both seasons.<br />

Stefanopoulos transferred to Thomas More<br />

College in Crestview Hills, Ky., for her final two<br />

years <strong>of</strong> eligibility where she made an immediate<br />

impact on the squad. She earned team captain honors<br />

as a senior while leading the Saints to the 2005-<br />

06 Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Co-<br />

Champions title with a 20-8 overall record. For her<br />

efforts, she was named second team All-PAC.<br />

The Florence, Ky., native received her bachelor’s<br />

degree in exercise science from Thomas More<br />

in May <strong>of</strong> 2006 and is currently working on a master’s<br />

degree in sports administration at Morehead<br />

State.<br />
