Host Information Desks
King County Metro Transit has general information desks in
the APTA registration areas, Aspen Room, Level 2 in the
Sheraton and Cascade Foyer North, Mezzanine Level in
the Westin. King County Metro staff is available to answer
questions you may have regarding local sites, restaurants,
social and cultural activities, and to provide transportation
information and maps. The host information desks are open
the same hours as the APTA registration desks.
Be sure to make use of your complimentary transit pass,
good for all King County Metro Transit services, during the
conference. There are plenty of fun things to see and do in
Seattle. Check your conference registration materials for a
special brochure about popular destinations and activities.
Discounted Baseball Tickets
APTA has arranged for discounted tickets to two Mariners
games. The games are Saturday, May 2 at 6:10 p.m. against
the Oakland A’s ($27) and Monday, May 4 at 7:10 p.m.
against the Texas Rangers ($25). You can purchase the
tickets through the link posted on the Bus & Paratransit
Conference & International Bus Roadeo page on APTA’s
web site, www.apta.com. The cut-off date is April 30 for
Saturday’s game and May 1 for Monday’s game.
Business Member Resource Room
APTA’s business members are hosting a networking and
resource room, Douglas Room, Level 2 in the Sheraton
Seattle, for conversation and connections. The resource
room is the place to discuss procurement opportunities,
learn about APTA’s resources that can help you do business,
and to enhance relationships and partnerships that can lead
to new business opportunities.

The resource room will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday
through Wednesday during the conference. Public agency
procurement officials and procurement officials from
APTA’s vehicle manufacturers, major suppliers, and A/E
firm members have been invited to participate in the
resource room. It’s a great place to learn about upcoming
business opportunities and how to reach the people who
make procurement decisions at public agencies. It’s also
a great opportunity to discuss contracting and teaming
opportunities with APTA private sector members.
Business members will be present to talk about how they
have maximized their return on their investment in APTA
membership and how their bottom-line benefited from
being an active member in APTA. Mark your calendar to
stop by the Business Member Resource Room while you
are in Seattle!
Moderators/Speakers
& A/V Preview Room
Fremont Room, Level 3 in the Sheraton Seattle has
been reserved daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through
Tuesday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Moderators are
encouraged to use this room to meet informally with their
speakers to go over last-minute details prior to the start of
their sessions.
The room is equipped with a LCD projector. Moderators and
speakers may use this room any time during the conference to
preview their PowerPoint presentations. Technical assistance
is available by contacting the APTA registration desk.
National Transit Institute (NTI)
Training Courses
APTA is very pleased to offer training courses delivered
by NTI again this year during the conference. There is no
additional fee to attend; however, you must pre-register
if you plan to attend any of the courses. Please refer to
pages 26 & 33-34 for course and registration information.
