APTA Offers Credentialing Sessions
APTA has received approval from the American Institute
of Certified Planners (AICP), the professional institute of
the American Planning Association, to award Certification
Management (CM) credits tailored to the needs of new
and experienced planning officials at the 2009 APTA Bus
& Paratransit Conference & International Bus Roadeo/Bus
Rapid Transit Conference.
Each of the following conference sessions offers 1.5 credit
hours:
• Building Sustainable Communities with Partnership
(See page 42.)
• Transit Facility Design — Sizing it Right (See page 79.)
• BRT, Land Use, and Ridership (See page 84.)
Sign-in sheets will be available at each session to record
attendance, or AICP members can log in to their online
CM logs to record the credits they’ve earned.

Transportation from Downtown
Seattle to SeaTac Airport
Public transportation is available between downtown
Seattle and SeaTac Airport and other destinations within
King County.
Information on traveling on King County Metro Transit to or
from SeaTac Airport can be found at http://transit.metrokc.
gov/. Click on the Regional Trip Planner link to get specific route
information. Additional information on using Metro follows.
Taking Metro Transit from
downtown Seattle to SeaTac Airport
During weekdays when the Downtown Seattle Transit
Tunnel is open (5 a.m. to 7 p.m.), catch the route 194 going
to SeaTac Airport at the Westlake Center tunnel station. Bay
C. Entrances to the Westlake Center tunnel station are at
6th Ave. & Pine St. (just outside Nordstrom) and 3rd Ave. &
Pine St. (just outside Macy’s). When the Downtown Seattle
Transit Tunnel is closed (evenings and weekends), catch
the route 194 at 4th Ave. & Stewart Street (near the Westin
Hotel) or 2nd Ave. & Pike St. or 2nd Ave. & Seneca St.
On weekdays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the route 194 operates at
15 minute intervals and gets you to the airport in about 30
minutes. The route 194 leaves downtown Seattle 5:16 a.m.
to 10:02 p.m. weekdays; 4:45 a.m. (from 2nd Ave. and Pike
St.) to 9:46 p.m. on Saturdays; and 4:45 a.m. (from 2nd Ave.
& Pike St.) to 6:49 p.m. on Sundays.
King County Metro Transit’s
Accessible Bus and Van Services
King County Metro Transit (Metro) is committed to
providing King County residents and visitors with valued
transportation services, and our services extend to
customers with special needs due to age or disabilities.
Metro provides Access Transportation paratransit service
for qualified customers, and 100% of Metro buses are
accessible. We offer accessible online trip planning and a
variety of accessible means to interact and use our services.
If you will be needing Metro’s complimentary ADA Paratransit
service called ACCESS and have previously registered with
the service as a visitor, please feel free to contact the ACCESS
rideline at 206.205.5000 to book, confirm, or cancel your
rides at least one day in advance. If you have not previously
registered but will require this service, please contact
206.205.5000 and press 4 & 2 to be transferred to ACCESS
Customer Service. Identify yourself as a conference attendee
and they will take care of your transportation needs. Also, feel
free to contact ACCESS Customer Service if you have any
questions regarding the program.
