Feng Liang is well and happy 7 DavidDavid No! 鳳倆健康快樂地成長 Feng Liang, our 7 year-old Child Guardian representative, is well and happy in her village in Yunnan province in southwest China. She’s moved up to grade three at school and is progressing well in her lessons. She tells us that maths is still her number one favourite subject, and that she also loves picture books. Her favourites are ‘Grimm’s Fairy Tales’ and a book called ‘David No!’. She still dreams of one day becoming a doctor. At home, the family celebrated Feng Liang’s little sister’s second birthday. Han Mo is still too young to attend our Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) centre full time, but she loves going there to play occasionally. In an area where there is so little preschool education or support for parents with young children, our ECCD centre is an invaluable resource for the local community. Meg Tuan, Feng Liang’s mother, says it has been hugely helpful for her own family, teaching her about 1 Child Guardian
How your donations help In China the health and wellbeing of her children and preparing Feng Liang for school. Our ECCD centre has become increasingly popular as more parents see the benefits of the services and education it provides. “We are so happy to have this preschool class where our children can play and learn,” one mother told us. Using this surge in local support, Save the Children plans to soon hand over the management of the centre to the community.
