<strong>student</strong>s will not be responsible for guaranteeing services or<br />
repair projects.<br />
16.6 Shared-Time Students<br />
Shared-Time <strong>student</strong>s are <strong>student</strong>s who are enrolled in a<br />
vocational or technical program at UCTECH during the AM or<br />
the PM session and receive their academic coursework at their<br />
home high school. The rules and regulations outlined in this<br />
<strong>handbook</strong>, unless otherwise noted, apply to shared-time<br />
<strong>student</strong>s.<br />
17.0 Project Child Find<br />
New Jersey recognizes the importance of providing services to<br />
children with special needs through its Project Child Find<br />
efforts. Local school <strong>district</strong>s can provide screening and<br />
evaluation for children three to 21 years of age who appear to<br />
have problems in communication, motor, social-emotional, or<br />
learning areas. Children found to be eligible for special<br />
education and related services are entitled to free and<br />
appropriate special education programming and related<br />
services. Information is provided to parents of children from<br />
birth through three years of age regarding early intervention<br />
services.<br />
If you know of children who appear to have one or more of the<br />
following signs, please ask their parents to call their local<br />
school <strong>district</strong>’s Office of Special Services, or the <strong>Union</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />
<strong>Vocational</strong>-Technical Schools Office of Special Education at<br />

Significant delays in acquiring language or significant<br />
speech problems;<br />
Significant difficulty walking, running, or manipulating<br />
small objects;<br />
Frequent health problems or birth handicaps;<br />
Consistent trouble seeing or hearing;<br />
Tendency toward temper tantrums or excessive<br />
anxiety or shyness;<br />
Significant difficulty playing appropriately with other<br />
children; and/or,<br />
Significant problems paying attention and listening.<br />
All information about such request will be kept confidential.<br />
17.1 Section 504 Compliance Officer<br />

Compliance Officer, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of<br />
