30.4 MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE<br />
30.4.1<br />
Linings to walls, ceilings, sloping ceilings, stairwells, beams, columns, inside ducts,<br />
and inside lift shafts shall be measured separately.<br />
30.4.2<br />
Work not exceeding 300 mm in width shall be measured in metres as extra value.<br />
This shall apply to all narrow widths except those in plane surfaces caused by<br />
openings and the like.<br />
30.4.3<br />
Beam, column, or duct casings, and the like, where required to be cast in one piece,<br />
shall be measured Separately in metres. The description shall include the girth and<br />
all labours.<br />
30.4.4<br />
Raking and circular cutting shall be measured in metres.<br />
30.4.5<br />
Cutting and fitting into grooved or rebated timber reveal linings shall be measured<br />
in metres.<br />
30.4.6<br />
Cornices, mouldings, coves, and the like shall be measured in metres with internal<br />
and external angles, stop ends, returned ends, and the like enumerated.<br />

30.4.7<br />
Projections or inserts, such as casings to corbels or sunken panels, shall be<br />
enumerated.<br />
30.4.8<br />
Corner battens, metal cornerstrips and edge beads, jointer and internal and external<br />
corner mouldings shall each be described and measured in metres.<br />
30.4.9 Stopping<br />
30.4.9.1<br />
Stopping shall be measured in square metres.<br />
30.4.9.2<br />
The forming of fair internal and external angles, joints to other materials, fair edges,<br />
special cast internal and external angles, and the like shall be measured in metres,<br />
the description shall include stopping.<br />
30.4.10 Acoustic and fire rated walls<br />
Special treatment to sound and fire rated partitions shall bedescribed and measured.<br />
The treatment to any fittings (e.g. switch boxes) in such walls shall be described and<br />
enumerated.<br />
