SECTION 26 - FIRE PROTECTION
26.1 OVERVIEW
Refertosection O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.
26.2 GENERAL PRINCIPLES
26.2.1
The work shall be scheduled under the following general classifications:

Electrical and pneumatic systems:
Sprinklers;
First aid fire protection.

26.2.2
Surface run work shall be scheduled separately from concealed work where
practicable.
26.3 MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE
26.3.1 Electrical and pneumatic
26.3.1.1
Indicator panels, battery units, trickle chargers cylinders and pumps shall be
enumerated. Reference shall be made to relevant specification clauses and the
drawings.
26.3.1.2
Subcircuit wiring or pneumatic tubing shall be measured for each subcircuit giving
the number of terminations to detectors, call points and alerting devices togetherwith
the size and type of cable or tubing.
26.3.1.3
Detectors, call points and alerting devices shall be enumerated.
26.3.1.4
Trunking and traywork shall be measured as described in section 28.
26.3.2 Sprinklers
26.3.2.1
Sprinkler systems shall be measured in accordance with the relevant clauses of
section 25, Pipework and, 26.3.1.
26.3.2.2
Sprinkler heads and guards shall be enumerated.
26.3.3 First aid
26.3.3.1
Hand held fire extinguishers shall be enumerated.
26.3.3.2
Fire hosereel systems shall be measured in accordance with section 23.
26.3.3.3
Fire hosereels shall be enumerated.
