SECTION 23 - PLUMBING AND GAS FITTING
23.1 OVERVIEW
Referto section O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.
23.2 PREAMBLES
23.2.1 Rates to include
Laps, joints, welted edges and short lengths to flashings and rainwater goods;
Running joints, short lengths and straight non-reducing connections to
pipework;
All bends, elbows, tees and the like to pipework less than 25 mm nominal
bore;
All insulation to bends, elbows, tees, valvesand the likeon pipeworkless than
25 mm bore;
Joints of taps, valves and traps to pipework and fittings;
Standard pipe fittings, clips, saddles, brackets, hangers and the like;
Forming holes otherthan holesthrough concrete, concrete masonry, brickwork
and steel.
23.3 GENERAL PRINCIPLES
23.3.1
The description of flashings, gutters and the like fabricated from sheet metal shall
include the material, thickness, width before bending or size, details of bending and
other labours, jointing, fixing, location and specific reference to detail drawing
number .
23.3.2
The description for pipework shall include the type or method of pipework support.
23.3.3
Pipework for each plumbing service shall be scheduled separately.
23.3.4
Excavation for pipework shall be scheduled in accordance with section 24 where
appropriate.
