13.4 MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE
13.4.1
Each skin of blockwork in cavity walls shall be measured and so stated.
13.4.2
Forming cavities including ties shall be described and measured in square metres
stating the material to which ties are fixed.
13.4.3
Deductions shall be made for all openings having an area of 0.4 m2 and over.
13.4.4
Surface treatments shall be measured separately in square metres.

Half high courses, bond beams, lintels, sills, external angles, tee intersections and
the like shall be measured separately in metres as extra value.
13.4.6
Control joints shall be described and measured in metres, including filling or pointing
if required,

Pointing to grooves, chases, frames and the like shall be measured in metres.
13.4.8
Metal bonding shall be measured in metres.

Horizontal, raking and circular cutting shall be measured in metres.
13.4.10
Damp-proof coursing for blockwork shall be measured in metres. The widths and
thicknesses shall be stated.

Flaunching to bottom of cavities shall be measured in metres including raking out
joints for weepholes.
13.4.12
Rod reinforcement shall be measured in this section in accordance with section 9.

Solid filling to blockworkshall be described and measured in square metresfor each
block thickness.
13.4.14
Intermittent concrete filling to cells of blocks, bond beam or column shall be
described and measured separately in metres for each thickness of wall and each
type of wall construction.

Filling to cavities between skins shall be described and measured in square metres
stating the width of the cavity.
