10.4.3<br />
Splay cutting, notching and the like shall be enumerated.<br />
10.4.4<br />
Circular and profile cutting shall be measured in metres.<br />
10.4.5<br />
Welding shall be measured in metres. The type and size of weld, thickness of metal<br />
and whether site or shop welded shall be stated.<br />
10.4.6<br />
All preparation of steelwork before welding shall be described. Spot welding and stud<br />
welding shall be enumerated. Intermittent welding shall be measured overall stating<br />
the spacings.<br />
10.4.7<br />
Brackets, cleats, gussets and the like shall be measured separately for each<br />
sectional size or thickness of plate and the number of each type shall be stated. The<br />
description shall include all cutting.<br />
10.4.8<br />
Plates shall have the mass calculated as the smallest size rectangles from which<br />
they can be cut.<br />
10.4.9<br />
Rivets shall be enumerated and the grip length, diameter and pitch shall be stated.<br />
10.4.10<br />
Bolts and studs shall be enumerated, stating the length and diameter. The description<br />
shall include washers, lock nuts and the like.<br />
10.4.1 1<br />
The area of steel to be treated or painted shall be measured in accordance with<br />
section 35. Fire protection shall be measured separately for each fire rating and steel<br />
section size.<br />
10.4.12<br />
Where shop drawings and the like are required, an appropriate item shall be<br />
scheduled.<br />
