SECTION 37 - SITEWORKS<br />

37.1 OVERVIEW<br />

Refer to section O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.<br />

37.2 GENERAL PRINCIPLES<br />

37.2.1<br />

Siteworks shall be clearly divided into its various subsections.<br />

37.2.2<br />

Except as follows, each subsection of the work shall be scheduled in this section in<br />

accordance with the provisions of the relevant section of this document.<br />

37.2.3<br />

Unless stated otherwise, separate items shall be measured for excavation, trimming,<br />

backfilling and drainage and foundations.<br />

37.3 MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE<br />

37.3.1 Roading<br />

Sealing shall be measured in square metres:<br />

(b)<br />

For plantmix or hotmix type surfaces the description shall state the thickness<br />

and shall include for tack coat where required,<br />

For chip seal surfaces the description shall include for tack coat, the number<br />

of coats of tar and chips.<br />

37.3.2 Crossings<br />

Crossings and the like shall be enumerated. The description shall include the size,<br />

construction, sub base, basecourse, reinforcing and surface finish. Reference shall<br />

be given to Local Authority standards and requirements where applicable.<br />

37.3.3 Road marking<br />

37.3.3.1<br />

Road marking shall be measured in metres stating the pattern, colour and width of<br />

line.<br />

37.3.3.2<br />

Direction arrows, pedestrian crossings, words and numbers shall be enumerated,<br />

stating the size, colour and style.<br />
