CONSERVATION RECOMMENDATIONS<br />

Conservation strategies represent 74 percent of the total volume of water associated with all recommended<br />

water management strategies in 2060. <strong>Water</strong> conservation was recommended for every municipal water user<br />

group that had both a need and a water use greater than 172 gallons per capita per day (the regional average).<br />

SELECT MAJOR WATER MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES<br />

• Irrigation <strong>Water</strong> Conservation would provide up to 479,466 acre-feet per year of water in 2010 with a capital<br />

cost of $346 million.<br />

• Lake Alan Henry Pipeline for the City of Lubbock would provide 21,880 acre-feet per year of water starting<br />

in 2010 with a capital cost of $294 million.<br />

• Post Reservoir would provide 25,720 acre-feet per year of water starting in 2030 with a capital cost of $110<br />

million.<br />

REGION-SPECIFIC STUDIES<br />

The Llano Estacado <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Water</strong> Planning Group developed three region-specific studies during the initial<br />

phase of the third planning cycle. The final reports documenting the findings can be found on the TWDB Web<br />
